Update: Camp

Hi everyone! I am so sorry my lack of posts, but finals start next week, and then I am off to camp for the whole summer. Since I will be at camp for 2 months, I won't be able to post anything on my blog, Instagram, and reply to emails. I am so sorry for this inconvenience, I know, it's frustrating. But trust me, in September I will definitely be working on a ton of posts for the upcoming school year. Oh my, that's weird to think about. I wish you all the best of luck on your summers, hope you wear lots of Lily and get really tan!

Until next time ( :( September),

Eliza Rose

Weekly Wonders

1//Lilly Pulitzer Agendas: If you are like me, you have been waiting for the new agendas since the old ones came out! Pre-order yours soon, as we know they sell out quick.
2//Best Friend by Foster The People: I haven't ever been really into Foster The People, but I love this song.
3//Belleoftheballe45: One of my all time favorite Instagrammer and Blogger Abby recently hit 10k on Instagram and her 1 year anniversary! Her style is awesome, and she is one of the sweetest bloggers. Everyone check her out.
4//C. Wonder Store: I've been obsessed with C. Wonder since I got a pair of gold bow flats in 7th grade from there. On my recent trip to NYC, we stopped at their store in Soho and picked up a couple things. And lemme just tell you, I am obsessed with this store. The clothes fit well, they aren't too pricey, and everything is absolutely adorable.
5//Crew Race Videos: Since crew has ended, I've been craving to race and be out on the water. My two options are urging or watching race videos, and I obviously chose race videos. Here is Harvard Men's Heavyweight 8 racing Penn and Navy.

Until next time,

Fashion: Relaxing in the Summer Sun (with the perfect pair of shades)

Summer's just around the corner, and the sun is out and about all the time. With that comes the constant complaints of sun in our eyes. But wait, I'm here to help!
The perfect pair of shades is hard to find, trust me, it's taken me a while to find some. Here are a few I love:

Monogrammed from Marley Lilly // J.Crew // A.J. Morgan (Nordstrom) // Ray-Ban Wayfarer // Ray-Ban Aviator

These are just a few of my favorites, there are definitely a ton of adorable ones out there. You don't have to spend a hundred dollars on sunglasses for them to be cute, I personally believe in bargains!
Let me know if you have any requests for posts by shooting me an email at fabricandfudge@gmail.com.

Until next time,
Eliza

Memorial Day Weekend

I love this time of year, school's ending, the weather is great, and more time with family. This weekend was my last regatta for crew, and the start to a long 4 weeks of studying for finals. Tonight my family barbecued some delicious chicken and settled into the warm weather.

My shorts are navy chino shorts from Old Navy, my top is from Cwonder, and my shoes are Sperry Topsider from Stride Rite.

Weekly Wonders

Here are some of the things that have added a little joy to my week, I hope they do the same to you.

1//The Beygency: And SNL does it again, this video may or may not be my favorite thing I have watched on SNL it is that funny.

2//Krass & Co: I recently received some pretty lil stickers from Krass & Co, and I will definitely be ordering some shorts from there soon since summer is coming up.

3//Drunk KJP: I love KJP, but this "drunk" twitter is hilarious.
KJP and Sarah Vickers (I LOVE THEM!)

4//100 Balls App: How to procrastinate? Play this new game I sadly discovered and am now obsessed with.
5//Converse: I know this is a bit random, but this week I have been especially loving to wear my black Converse. They are a bit edgy for me, but I like the versatility of the black and the casualness of the sneakers.

If you find anything else that is interesting from your week, be sure to let me know in the comments below or contact me some other way, I would love to hear about it!

Until next time,

Fashion: Sweat it Out in Style

Working out may not be everyone's cup of tea, but a cute outfit definitely is a plus to helping you stay healthy. I am rower and generally am on the water for a workout, but occasionally I may do a workout class, yoga, or run.

Sneakers // Socks // CamelBak // Backpack // Headband

Quarter Zip // Short Sleeve // Tank Top // Cropped Leggings // Shorts

These clothes can be worn for running, biking, yoga, lifting weights, or any other type of exercise you do. Looking cute while working out is great motivation!

Update: Under Construction

I am currently updating my site, creating a new header, and just making it look a little prettier. I'd say it's "under construction." If you are confused on pages being empty, etc., don't fret, I will be done soon! Just wanted to let y'all know that in case you were a little confused.

Know About It Now: Babysitting

I have been babysitting for about 4 years, and I know when I first started I was extremely scared. Even though it may seem daunting, here are a few of the things I think help make sure you are doing your best job.

1//Emergency Kit: Being in unknown territory where you don't know where the bandaids are, or even products for larger emergencies, is scary. Always, always, always bring your own bag full of supplies in case of an emergency.
Items Included in this Kit:
-address and information about where the house is
-phone numbers of both parents PLUS emergency contacts
-phone numbers such as Poison Control Center
-first aid kit with all necessities
-this Red Cross book
-anything else you seem fit for the job

2//Listen to Instructions: If the parents ask you to clean up the toys in the basement, do it. If they asked you to put Suzie to bed at 9, don't wait until 9:30. Remember to do what the parents say to do or you probably won't be hired back.

3//Clean: I always make sure to put the dishes in the dishwasher, sweep the floor, put the pillows back, etc., so the parents come home to a house cleaner than the way they left it. Be careful though, you don't want to clean too much so they can't find things since you moved stuff around.

4//Don't Give In: I know I always liked to mess with babysitters when I was little and tell them we were allowed to have 5 cookies instead of 1. Suzie's bed time is really not 10 pm even though she is telling you that "when mom is here I go to bed then." Don't give in to the puppy dog faces and the constant begging of the kids, use your judgement and do what you know is right.

5//Stay Away from the Kitchen: That recipe for no bake brownies seemed really easy until the whole kitchen was covered in flour. Trust me, don't cook with the kids no matter how mature they are, it will turn out bad.

6//How Much is Too Much: Ah the television. What a handy little device that you can plop the kids in front of, while you kick back your feet and relax. Even though the appeal of not having to play with the kids for the next hour and a half while High School Musical is on Disney, and being able to get some homework done is very nice, don't do it. Especially if the parents told you that they shouldn't watch anymore tv for the day. Go outside and play on the swings, make up a play, just don't watch tv for too long.

If these tips were useful, let me know on my new Twitter, @fabricandfudge.
And remember, babysitting can be fun if you let it!

Until next time,
Eliza

April Playlist

This month I've had an array of music I've been jammin' too, as you can tell. Though I'd share with you some of my tunes:

Weekly Wonders

Even though the weather may not show it, and I still can't believe school ends next month, it actually is May. Here are some of the things that I have been loving lately:

1.) Annie (1982) You're Never Fully Dressed Without A Smile: Just listening to this song makes me so happy and want to smile. "It's what you wear from ear to ear, and not from head to toe." Make it your goal to smile at a stranger tomorrow!
2.) 2048: One might say a game is just something that you can play to have fun while on a break from homework. Homework is the break you take when you stop playing 2048. This game is very addicting, beware.
3.) Boys in the Boat: As some of you may know, I am a rower on a local club team. My grandma got me this book, and while a little shaky at the start, it gets really interesting. I suggest reading it, whether you're a rower or not.
3.) Ben Tour: I take Studio Art at school, and our new project is loosely based on Ben Tour, a young artist. His style of art is so unique, and I am excited to learn more about him. (If you would like to see some of my artwork from school, let me know)

4.) Tiny Hamsters Eating Tiny Burritos: Hope this silly video brings a lil joy into your day as it did to mine.
I wish you a happy first of May and remember: you're never fully dressed without a smile!

Until next time,
Eliza

Fashion: A Package of PJ's

Bedtime is my favorite time of the day. Snuggling up with a mug of tea and a great book are much better when you have a pair of cute pj's on.
Here are some of my top necessities for bedtime:

Fashion: For a Rainy Daze

Long time no blog, sorry! April showers are definitely going to bring May...showers? I've been jumping right into spring (puddles) and the rain will continue to stay for awhile. Why not dress in style to help ease the pain of constant wet hair?
Raincoats are hard to find, cute ones that is. So, I have done the research for you, just so you don't have to spend the time.

Found this adorable coat on Gap(link) The polka dot hood definitely made me smile, and the navy is so versatile, who wouldn't want this coat?
For those into the more durable type, but still as cute, a North Face jacket (link) is the way to go. Though a little bit more on the pricier side, this coat will definitely last you a while.
Last but not least, a mint jacket. Who doesn't love mint? Nordstrom BP has done it again, this lovely coat is eye catching as well as useful(link).

What would a cute rain outfit be without adorable rainboots? You're right, it wouldn't be cute.
On the lower price side, I love Target. Each spring they come out with the most adorable rainboots.
I whaley love these ones,
Vineyard Vines inspired(
link).
I love these polka for ones(link)
On the middle end of our price range I suggest DSW. Polka dots and solid colors, a bit more durable than Target's, but a little pricier.
They have these in mint too,
to go with your coat(link)

And the best rainboots I have found, Hunters. I had been wooing over these boots for the longest time, and when I found a pair online at Nordstrom for $70 (half off) I got them before they sold out. I definitely suggest paying full price for these if you can't fine a great discount. These will last you a long time and they are so cute. The classic tall are the best, but they have a variety of colors and styles. And yes, I recommend the welly socks, I will be getting myself a pair when winter comes around!
Fleece Welly Socks(link)
Classic Tall(link)
Last but certainly not least, an adorable umbrella is needed to keep the rain out of your face and not on your hair that took an hour to curl. A cute one is also a necessity.
For the ultimate traveler or someone always on the go, I suggest the Lilly Pulitzer umbrella since it is tiny and will fit in the cute purse I know you'll be carrying.

For those lookin' for a larger umbrella, Kate Spade is the way to go. Now I know you can find umbrellas for cheap at Target, but Kate Spade makes you smile.

Hope these were useful, and if not, at least you enjoyed looking at the pictures... I hope. I will try and get back to blogging more regularly, but with school and everything it might not be so regular. Thank you for staying tuned until the end of this long post ;)

Until next time,
Eliza

Know About It Now: School Organization

I just recently purchased a new agenda and homework planner because my one from school fell apart. I thought I would share with you all how I keep organized for school.
This is what I use to show who is driving me to practice that day, since I am always confused!
This is where I keep all my upcoming events, clubs, projects, essays, and tests.
I love this notebook,  I record all my homework for each night in it. I also add things not due tomorrow so I know what I have mapped out for the week. Adding the little boxes makes finishing my work much more satisfying.
I add a stamp on the bottom of every page (which is everyday) which makes me so happy. Seeing Kate Spade's inspirational phrases help me even when I know I have hours of homework ahead!
For my school work, I use these Five Star Flex Notebinder. I have one for each class and they are small enough to keep in my backpack. For my homework, I taped regular two-pocket folders to the front of each notebinder and put all my work due in there.
I hope you enjoyed learning about how I learn (HA see what I did there). If you have any questions about any of this stuff always feel free to contact me! (info on my main page).
Until next time,
Eliza
